The shadow of a foe Over us hovers and prevails. Ahmad I also ask our land Is ours or not ours? In my room I hang The portrait of Guivara I desire to be Guivara But I know not how But I know not how Chorus Difficult to gather two together Every one is alone No two are together We empty our revolt With dance and cheer Jamilah But in our inmost hearts We are crying, wailing This is not joy In my heart I feel not joy Chorus So much injustice’s in our world C’est vrais much injustice Prisons are full of innocents The world is full of miserable Denied of their rights Jamilah I see Angela on the screen I crave to be Angela To hold a torch, to defend liberty Life is wonderful with liberty Ahmad But in life there is Much injustice Only the strong practice His unjust liberty I fear Jamilah dear Your big heart Will do you harm Even a great disaster Diana I say politics is not for us Jamilah How not for us! Diana We are to study and enjoy Jamilah Of course, who’s against that? Chorus She means politics is not a career Diana likes to enjoy, to rire Jamilah But we must not forget Our homeless nation, driven away Paul We have admitted you as refugees You became a state within a state You threatened our peace You drew our fate Chorus The land of peace The land of banks The land of universities The land of resorts Secured by its role Why should you draw it To troubles peculiar to you? We have no power to defend you Jamilah Every one is weak alone Every one is crippled alone But when we have united aim We shall rise as a storm Diana Rise and cheer All of you dear Leave to elders anxiety We came to enjoy It’ s pity Not to rejoice In full liberty Paul Your way Jamilah is difficult Your foes are many Don’t oppose the current Don’t tower mountains You have no airplanes You have no tanks You have no world support Don’t give way to your dreams All your struggle Will be resolved with no effort Chorus We are a generation Of struggle, of revolution We don’t accept subjugation We don’t feel secure Unless our nation Is free Our land is ours or not Our wealth is ours or not Why in our nation we are lost. Diana Leave us of this talk We came to rejoice not to grieve Let us dance before we leave Jamilah always opens Her tragedy dear Leave our hearts full of fear Tremble and shudder Let us now dance Whatever you like to dance Jamilah You have nothing to care about You ask pleasure first Enjoying every minute out Under your friendly sky But I saw the blood of paradise Shed under the orange orchards Under the tents How can I be indifferent? The one who lived black September Will never know delight never In my dreams I visit my home Cautiously I peep from windows To see strange vacant faces there Who is playing on my piano Who has inherited my wardrobe there? I open my eyes With tight breathing Never I can return home My homeland always speaks to me Murmuring once, thundering after Why I am in laughter When most of my family Perished under ruins Found their peace in the disaster They feel no more but I feel That something is wrong in the universe Built on injustice and transgress In my room I hang only photos Of my beloved whom I see no more |
