Act One - Scene Eight (In the camp of refugees) Palestinian Refugee Have you heard? Neighbor What must I hear? Palestinian Refugee Te owners of the shops Financed mercenaries To burn the shops Neighbor This is impossible, Sheikh! Palestinian Refugee Why impossible? For years they stayed Under the laws Taking rent from tenants As trash as dust Today the land costs millions Neighbor Where are we going ? God help the poor! They aren't able To pay for their houses nor shops Palestinian Refugee Tomorrow when we are relieved . . . Neighbor No comfort for us, no relief When there are exploiters and Thieves Why Cain killed Abel But for his fedadin?
