Act One Scene Two |
Act One - Scene Two Chorus Who stole from my country the stars? Who put out the light of moon? Who turned the love songs To crying, moaning Sent people to their doom? Who towered over the valley Stabbed suddenly the spring? Its water gushed out A cataract of women blood Near the camp of Tel Zaatar? Who rains on my land The bombs To open in its breast graves To fill up in its face holes? Who forced the birds to flee From their nests in trees they where an aim to fire Now to human beings transferred From their homes fleeing But doors were shut From death no fleeing Who blackened the golden sand By smoke on the beach Turned our boats Into heaps of black wood Our homes to piles of stones? Palestinian Militia Come on to settle accounts Today is the day of vengeance We shall know no felicity Living in tin huts You in the city Why our land you have sold to the enemy ceded for some gold? Why our blood was shed By treason without end Why, why, why? Lebanese Militia We are a nation You are another We are not one nation Between us no relation You are one sect We are another Don’t marry from us We don’t marry from you You are a civilization We are another You don’t belong to us We don’t belong to you Our ways are not one Our hearts are not one Our minds are not one Go out of our homeland Don’t enter our dominion We don’t enter yours You are a nation we are another Don’t force us with your problems Between us two No lineage, no relation A citizen A strange tone, a queer tone Unusual to us, unfamiliar Our intimacy for years Our social relations How do we ruin them From a year to another? Without the slightest promotion? |
